GEne-to-Protein Coordinates CONverter (GECCON)
GECCON allows conversion of genomic coordinates of single nucleotide polymorphisms (detected by such tools as samtools, rnaseqmut etc.) to amino acid sequence coordinates.
The service accepts as input chromosome, coordinate of mutation, reference nucleotide and alternative nucleotide and outputs gene ID, all alterantive splicing variants with such mutation, number of amino acid, reference amino acid and alternative variant for amino acids. Example of input format is presented below.
The service was originally designed to work with Drosophila melanogaster RNA-Seq data and annotates only SNPs located within CDS and does not recognize SNPs in 5'-, 3'-UTRs, introns and intergenic sequences.
Reference assemblies and CDSs are obtained from FlyBase
